is it just me, or is this particularly underwhelming?

BIIIIIIG POST.

I have recently been underground due to RISD's home tests... I shipped 3 drawings, 2 writing samples and 1 CD off on Saturday and HAD NEVER FELT MORE LIBERATED. Until I went out to find shark fin dumplings with Ralphy and saw more love-dovey, obnoxious couples of every race and age, all canoodling like STDs don't exist. Jesus. H. Christ. Nothing like that to smack you in the face and say, "NA NA NA, you're too unbearable in person for anyone to like!"

...Cough.

Anyway, Ralph and I circled Chinatown four dozen times in search of a restaurant that served shark fin dumplings. There was only one and apparently they weren't serving it at the time. Ingenious, no? We paid for a combo plate and only when we tried to order a second plate (only shark fins this time) did we find out that nothing was available except for pork and vegetable. Ripoff, I say, ripoff - and they were downright tiny. I left NYC feeling rather deprived. Next weekend, you shall see them. YOU SHALL.
This guy, by the way, gave the most heartwarming hug ever. He was out by the Haagen Daazs on Mott Street jumping to keep himself warm and had the biggest smile. What follows next is just a combination of what I've been looking at on the internet (procrastinating on catching up on 10 chapters of AP Euro... yes, 10, filling out financial aid forms and more) and what I wore today.

I couldn't figure out which one to wear.

So I decided on a black dress that I had bought for a performance in which I was Hecate, the goddess of magic, from Macbeth.

Also, would anyone like to see how seriously beast my mother is at bargain shopping?

a useless weekend.

i completely wasted my weekend by travelling a total of maybe 18 hours back and forth to pittsburgh for a portfolio review, only to get a 5 minute interview and no discussion about my portfolio.
needless to say, i was not happy.
so after two sleepless hours in penn station waiting for the 6 AM 99S train (that's right folks.... we arrived at 4AM...), getting home at around 7 and thoroughly crashing until maybe 11, getting up, going to the doctor's as a walk-in and not getting an appointment, i feel like i've wasted more than just a day. i've wasted two.
there's just too much to do, and too little time... 3 RISD drawings, 2 writing samples i knew nothing about, an essay and list of activities for MICA, as well as the hopes of putting something more into my portfolio, not to mention all the FAFSA, CSS, and financial aid reports left to be filed... jesus christ, i'm ready to drop everything and become a hermit in arizona.
i WILL be more cheerful next week! ...promise... after college apps and swimming season, it'll be nothing but pretty clothes, warm weather (which has started already) sunny skies and hopefully lots of vodka (but you didn't hear that from me).

swimming makes me itch.

This is from Tuesday... I think. I had fallen asleep at 2:30 in the morning and then woken up at 6:30... wonderful how I wake up early from almost zero hours of sleep but then wake up late when i've gotten six, seven hours. Hmph. Well I had just eaten a few bites of breakfast, and I was standing around waiting for time to pass by when I thought... why not take some pictures? So here you are. Sorry if I'm terribly awkward. Haha.

It's real fur. I know, I know. It wasn't mine.

This sweater is huge... The only thing I wore over it was a big black blazer. God knows I was warm! It was in the single digits today so I bundled up today as well.... Unfortunately, RISD's home test calls me, so I must "bounce" as Jersey City kids say.

this is how i feel about FAFSA. i just got my EFC today. and holy shit, is it huge. (okay, so maybe this is just a really lame pose to show you the textures of my clothes today...although really, i do feel like snapping and growling at the unfairness of the world. and college.)
